Fashion Friday!

I love a good deal and I am mostly a very thrifty shopper and always try to buy at discount stores like Target or Old Navy and I stalk the sale sections at Anthropologie and Loft. But, I have always been a firm believer in splurging on accessories, timeless pieces of clothing, and a great fitting pair of jeans. I personally feel that designer jeans are worth every. single. penny. period! Eleven years ago Seven For All Mankind denim had just come out. Back then no one in their right mind would spend over $100 on a pair of jeans. I saw them on every single celebrity at the time and I was just dying to have a pair. I saw an ad for a local boutique who advertised that they were carrying them. I couldn't wait to go try them on. The hubby and I were dating at the time and I kept talking about them and finally he agreed to go take a look with me. I tried them on, fell in love, and even D agreed that they were keepers. To this day I still wear that same first pair, even though they are now shredding to pieces at the thigh. Hey, it gives them character! If I'm still wearing them eleven years later, I'd say that I certainly got my money's worth! So, splurge on the pieces that really make the outfit like your jeans and accessories and get your tanks and tees at Target or Old Navy.

Here is what I'm wearing today:

Tank Top, Mossimo for Target
Crochet Vest, Mossimo for Target
Jeans, Juicy Couture
Shoes, Mossimo for Target (found them this week on clearance for $12.49!)
All Jewelry, Stella & Dot

Reclaiming the House!!!

When we finally brought the triplets home after being in the NICU for two and a half months, I could have cared less what my house looked like. It was all about survival at that point! It didn't take long for us all to be completely sleep deprived and my house was the last thing on my mind. The triplets needed to eat every 3 hours around the clock and it took nearly an hour and a half to get them all fed. I remember setting the alarm on my cellphone to wake me back up in 45 minutes to do it all over again. As the babies got a little bigger, the more things we needed that eventually took over the entire house....three swings, three bouncy seats, three jumparoos, three pack-n-plays, three bumbo seats, three carseat carriers, three highchairs, three of everything they make for babies! Plus, baskets of toys and blankets, bibs and burp cloths...there was something baby-related in nearly every single square inch of our home! And that was just fine with me. But, slowly over time the babies outgrew most of those items and the only things still remaining in our main living space are the three highchairs. Now, the bonus room, is another story. It has been taken over by every single toy that is currently on the market...but I'll save that for another post!!! My focus here lately has been on our living room and kitchen. Long gone are the jumparoos and bouncy seats and I am attempting to reclaim the space!!! In the process, I decided that I was tired of the decor that I had in there. We've been in this house for going on nine years and basically everything has been the same since we moved in. Plus, we acquired a new leather sectional couch from my father-in-law and while I loooooooove it, I felt like I need to add some touches to make it a bit more feminine and not so bachelor-pad looking. I turned to my awesome friend Shelli at A' la mode and she gave me some suggestions. I've been on the hunt for some new pillows and accessories...and I've now become addicted to finding new things and have even decided to give some more rooms in the house some sprucing up just by moving things around or pulling things out of the attic that were in the way while we were in baby-mode. I can't wait to share my new projects with you!!!

Here is how it all looked before....

Not long ago these bottles were replaced with sippy cups and have been cluttering up my kitchen counter for 2.5 years. JUST last weekend I finally got rid of this drying system! It had to go! I already do at least one sink load of dishes every day and I decided to be diligent about drying the items off, assembling the cups and putting them away. No more cluttering up the counter! Ahhhh, so freeing!!!

In a way I really do miss the baby stage, but on the other hand...I'm happy that they are growing up and turning into little people too! Buh-bye jumparoos!

Can you see all of the CRAP in the background of this picture? Seriously!

Chillin...

Coming up....my living room mini-makeover! Thanks for stopping by!

xoxo,
Jenn
